Moves and renovations in Helmet libraries

During spring and summer 2026, many Helmet libraries will be closed for renovation, moving or other arrangements.

This summary provides information on which libraries are exceptionally closed in the summer.

Libraries also have shorter opening hours during the summer. Please check your local library’s web page for opening hours before visiting: helmet.fi/libraries

  • Point Library in Vantaa is moving to Jumbo Shopping Centre in autumn 2026. Point Library was closed on 1 May and the new Jumbo Library will open on 15 October. You can pick up your Point Library reservations from Mosaiikki Library or change the pickup location to another library.
  • Vallila Library in Helsinki is undergoing renovations in the summer and autumn of 2026. Because of this, the library is closed from 1 May to 25 October. You can pick up your Vallila Library reservations from Pasila Library or change the pickup location to another library.
  • Pitäjänmäki Library in Helsinki moved to temporary facilities in Shopping Centre Ristikko in Konala in May 2026. You can find the new library in the Libraries menu under the name Ristikko Library.
  • Laaksolahti Library in Espoo is moving to temporary facilities in summer 2026. Because of this, the library will be closed from 19 June onwards. The temporary facilities will open in August or September.
  • Martinlaakso Library in Vantaa is closed from 19 June to 16 August. 
  • Länsimäki Library in Vantaa is closed from 19 June to 16 August.
  • Pähkinärinne Library in Vantaa is closed from 18 June to 18 August.
  • Maunula Library in Helsinki is closed from 22 June to 5 July 2026 due to floor maintenance. The library will reopen on Monday 6 July 2026.
  • Jätkäsaari Library in Helsinki is closed from 26 June to 20 July 2026 due to floor maintenance. The library will reopen on Tuesday 21 July 2026.
  • Pohjois-Haaga Library in Helsinki is closed from 22 June to 2 August.  The library will reopen on Monday 3 August.
