Games Week at the library
International Games Week (Peliviikko) is celebrated once a year in November. The national Games Week in Finland was created on the initiative of libraries. This year, the Games Week will be held from 2 to 8 November 2026.

During the Games Week, there are many game and gaming events at libraries for both children and adults.

Five game recommendations
Could one of these become your new favourite? These board game recommendations were put together by the library’s games expert Renni Honkanen.
Hot streak
A hilarious race between sports club mascots. At least two players. Recommended age: 6+.
Flip 7
Try this next if you have already played Uno and other traditional card games. It’s a great choice for a bigger group. At least three players. Recommended age: 8+.
A themed card game where you build your own forest with trees, animals and plants. The game also has a standalone sequel, Dartmoor. 2–5 players. Recommended age: 10+.
The lord of the rings: the fellowship of the ring. Trick-taking game
Behind this monster of a name is an excellent trick-taking game set in Tolkien’s familiar world, featuring familiar characters. 1–4 players. Recommended age: 10+.
A word-guessing game with a little twist. 2–6 players. Recommended age: 10+.
Every day is a game day
At Helmet libraries, you can even have a game day every day:
- borrow a board game, console game or an outdoor game
- book a room at the library for gaming
- take part in the Helmet game challenge
- borrow books and magazines about games
- participate in a gaming event.
