Hakunila library will close until further notice on Friday, November 13, 2026, at 16:00

Hakunila library will be temporarily closed due to indoor air problems. Renovations have been carried out at the property in 2012 and 2022. In addition, air purifiers have been used in the library, and the ventilation system has been cleaned and adjusted. These measures have not improved the situation.

The library will be closed temporarily so that the situation can be investigated further. The closure will continue until the safe use of the premises can be ensured or library services can be arranged at other suitable premises in the area.

Library service arrangements during the closure

If you have chosen Hakunila library as the pickup location for your reservation, you can change the pickup location to a library that suits you by logging into the Helmet online library using your library card number and PIN code.

If the reservation is already on its way to you, the pickup location can no longer be changed. Read the instructions on the Helmet online library’s website.

If the pickup location is not changed, reservations sent to Hakunila library will automatically be transferred to Jumbo library for pickup. Jumbo library is located at Tasetie 8. The library’s contact information and opening hours can be found on the Helmet online library’s website.

The mobile library’s current stops near Hakunila in Vaarala and Nissas as well as the regular stops at the area’s daycare centers and schools will remain in service. Further information on the routes and schedules of the mobile library can be found on the Helmet online library’s website. The mobile library’s stops are also shown on the map.

Where possible, the pedagogical work at the comprehensive schools and daycare centers in the area will continue as outreach.
