Junior Activist Diploma encourages environmental action
Library Encourages Activism is a Helmet libraries campaign to encourage people to take environmental action with an activist diploma. We’re responding to people’s wishes and introducing an activist diploma for children! The junior activist diploma encourages children, young people, families and school classes to take action for the environment.
It inspires people to try different forms of activism and ways of making a difference. You can complete the challenges anyway you wish and in the order that suits you. You can collect a printed copy of your diploma from your nearest library. Let’s take action together!
- Read or listen to a book with an environmental theme.
- Find a newspaper article or online news story about the environment and read it.
- Spend some time in a nearby forest.
- Talk to an adult and ask what they’re doing for the environment.
- Propose environmentally-themed activities at your school (e.g. a school trip, expert visit or rubbish-picking event).
- Make a protest sign about a cause you care about.
