Library system updates affect Helmet libraries’ services

The servers of the Helmet library systems will be updated on Wednesday 5 June after 18:00. The update will affect the services of libraries and the Helmet web library between 5 and 6 June. Loans and reservations awaiting pickup will not expire during these days.

Availability information, login, making reservations, loan renewal or online payment will not be available in the Helmet web library during the update. The conventional Helmet search (WebPAC) and its mobile version (AirPAC) will be disabled.

The old Helmet search (Encore) and its mobile version (Encore Mobile) will be removed during the upgrade process.

Updating affects library opening hours

  • There are no self-service hours in Espoo libraries between 18:00 on 5 June and 13:00 on 6 June. Otherwise, customer service is available as usual. The Haukilahti, Laaksolahti and Saunalahti Libraries make an exception to this, serving the public from 9:00 to 16:00 on 6 June, meaning that customers are able to enter the libraries already at 9:00.
  • Customer service is available in libraries in Helsinki as usual, with the exception of self-service hours not being available in the evening on 5 June and in the morning on 6 June.
  • The libraries in Kauniainen are open as usual, with the exception of self-service hours not being available between 18:00 on 5 June and 10:00 on 6 June.
  • In Vantaa, libraries will be closing already at 18:00 on 5 June. Hakunila and Länsimäki libraries are closed completely on June 5 due to cleaning and staff development day. Libraries in Vantaa will be open as usual on Thursday 6 June, with the exception of self-service hours not being available.
