Week 17 is Sustainable Development Week in libraries
Sustainable Development Week will be observed in week 17 on 20–26 April 2026.
The week will include environment-themed events and activities in various libraries in Helsinki and Kauniainen.
You can
- exchange toys or seedlings and cuttings
- listen to forest fairytales
- get environment-themed reading tips
- repair a bicycle
- maintain and upcycle clothes
- make crafts from recycled materials, and much more!
The events of the week will be listed in the events calendar under the keywords ‘week 17’ (events in Helsinki) and ‘ekoviikko’ (events in Kauniainen).
The week of 20 April is an international theme week for libraries, during which libraries celebrate the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN.
