In the spring of 2024, the Helmet municipalities joined the joint E-library service of Finnish municipalities, and the separate e-book services that are still in use in Helmet libraries will be discontinued.

If the loan periods of books you have borrowed from Ellibs extend to 2025, you will no longer be able to read them after the turn of the year unless you have downloaded them to be used in separate reading software (Adobe or Thorium). The books will no longer be accessible via your browser or the app after 31 December even if the loan period has not expired.

You can access books borrowed from OverDrive until the end of the loan period, regardless of how they were downloaded.

E-books in E-library

You can borrow e-books, audiobooks and e-magazines from the joint E-library service of Finnish municipalities. The national E-library is available via a mobile app, which requires strong identification.

The joint E-library and its collections are constantly being developed by the National Library of Finland. More than 220 municipalities have joined E-Library. Read more on the National Library of Finland website.

You can also listen to audiobooks in English and German via Naxos Spoken Word Library. LINK
