Welcome to the library, families with children

It is worthwhile to start to familiarize yourself with the library early on. Even with a baby you can browse cardboard-page first books and practice reading aloud. When a child grows, reading aloud supports their development in multiple ways, and joint reading moments between the guardian and the child become important. In the library, you will find plenty of material suitable for children’s different ages that supports the family’s reading hobby.
The library also offers lots of activities for families with babies, as well as for families with toddlers. Really small children can participate in baby rhyme sessions or musical fairytales, whereas a little bit older children can, for instance, enjoy activity-based fairytale sessions. Many libraries also have a play area where it is safe to get familiar with the library.
Residents of all ages are welcome to Helmet libraries. Most libraries provide good premises for families with small children to hang out. You can eat and drink on the premises. In addition, most premises are also equipped with a highchair and a microwave oven where you can warm up your snacks. Moreover, a stroller park and child-care room make it easier for you to move around with a baby. You do not even have to worry about silence; the library has room for sound.
You will easily find your local library’s offering and services online at Helmet libraries and opening hours
